    Gear lube.

    Should I use mineral oil like used in a Ford hydraulic or will ordinary 80-90 work in my F40 ? Or do you have suggestion ? I know this question has only been asked a million times, but sometimes things change. Thanks Ed

    lifting problem

    The tractor is a 1957 Ferguson F40, that I"ve had since new. the issue is, the engine must at or near wide open in order to lift the mower or even lighter loads, when you return to idle the lift arms drop "like a rock".

    I was told that the reason my lift won"t stay up is because the lift cylinder is bad, it is original, what cylinder is used ? will the mounting holes need to be enlarged? Any help will be appreciated.

    drywall

    I am looking at a place that has a very nice shop to restore my tractors, the house is a manufactured or "double wide", the place is in great shape, but I don"t like paneling. Could the paneling be replaced with drywall?

    F40 power steering

    My Ferguson Parts Book for F-40 has no listing for the power steering. What power steering does it use? It looks like it could be the same as a MF-50. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ed
