    subsoiler completion pictures

Good eye. I know it, the old chain had a broken link and I haven't been to tractor supply for a new one. I still have a couple of tweeks to do before I put it in the ground, Ellis

    subsoiler completion pictures

A few pictures of my latest keep me out of trouble project. John Deere # 15 subsoiler. Disassembled and rebuilt the lift clutch. Wire wheeled and sanded the frame and the wheels. Primed and painted. I know before anyone comments that the wheels are not John Deere yellow, but I had a can of...

    Cat Tail removal

My brother and I were my father's main removal crew. We would walk around the lake and pull them. Payment was supper that night. Ellis

    The purchase...........

I was able to purchase a John Deere #15 subsoiler. It really looked rough but the wheels weren't rusted badly and the axles had very little wobble/play. I first lifted it from the crane in my barn and disassembled the clutch. Really nasty inside the cast iron hub and also full of water. The...

    #15 subsoiler rebuild, John Deere

I have the lift mechanism, clutch apart thanks to a you tube video that explained the disassembly in great detail. Thanks to Dave from Kansas for suggesting you tube. I need some simple parts like felt seals and maybe a gasket. The you tube video suggested e-bay for a rebuild package and...

    #15 john deere sub soiler

I just bought the above mentioned item. It has the trip mechanism like on the John Deere plows. I would like to disassemble it and clean the old grease out. Any tricks to this operation. Maybe some pictures would be helpful if anyone has some. Thanks Ellis

    Farmall H 1945

Many years ago in the 70's I was driving a country back road south of Hodgenville, Ky. and passed a Farmall M pulling a wheel disc. It was stopped along the road and the farmer was trying to get it to lift. I stopped to help and asked him what fluid he had in the hydraulic belly pump...

    Sub Soiler

I have been looking for an old pull behind sub soiler to use with a Farmall M. John Deere would be my choice. I live near Cincinnati. Ellis

    back pack sprayers

I own a pump up one and it works well. I use it in the woods to walk and spray autumn olive and bush honeysuckle. At 80 it is harder on the back than it was 10 years ago. If I fall down I have to crawl to a tree and pull myself up. My son says it is funny to watch. Ellis

    V Rake

I have used v rakes, but on larger fields and they do fine. I would say all the turning on such a small field would cause problems. I have several small 5 or 6 acre fields and I use a basket rake which works well. Ellis

    latest storm damage

Hey Mark, good to hear from you. Yea, it is a 3901 Kubota in the shed BUT it isn't mine. It belongs to the neighbor across the road who doesn't have a barn. ( I use it). Ellis

    latest storm damage

It is a Magnatrac 8000. They are made in Wisconsin. It is very handy for woods work, and pushing brush. Ellis

    latest storm damage

last Wed. night to Thurs. morning. Huge red oak limb went down in the hay field. Of course this happened just before I cut hay, so I just mowed around it instead of mashing down hay. I started cleaning up 3 days ago. The limb shown in the first picture is 26 inches in diameter. The last...
