    I have this seat on my 48 D. Documentation I have found indicates it is John Deere part AD1606R which was first used on the 1937 D and later on several other models but the number of holes changed over time. From the beginning to late '41 the seat supposedly had 9 holes, then changed to 7 holes...

    Pulley/Flywheel removal on Model D

    Need to remove pulley and flywheel on my D to seal some leaks and paint. Is it best to do one side at a time or does it matter if I pull both at the same time? If both are pulled what is best order to reinstall, pulley first or flywheel first or does it even matter? Thanks

    Just completed the same task on my '48 and agree with nh8260. Hubs should break free with a few well placed hits on inner hub extension...would avoid heat if you can but could be handy.

    Replacing seals in final drive of a styled model D. Has anyone come up with a good alternative to the vellumoid washers (D933R) used internally on the bottom six or so bolts. They are 1/16 thick and parts manual calls for 8-10 stacked per bolt...price from Deere is close to $9.00 for each...
