Ford 600 sputters under load going uphill

before filling the tank I'd check flow from the fuel outlet at the tank. Easier to drain 1/4 tank then a full tank.

Need to replace my headgasket, looking for instructions

If the tractor sits for a day or more if there was any water/antifreeze in the oil it would settle to the bottom. Pull the drain plug and drain a little and look at it.

Need to replace my headgasket, looking for instructions

Hoping for the quick easy fix Don't fill it over the fins and use the tractor and see how it does. Easy fix is don't overfill the radiator. The top part of the radiator is the expansion tank unlike cars and trucks that have a tank for the excess to expand to and then be drawn back in.

    Ford 3600 ignition switch question

Most of them get worn and you have to jiggle the lever back and forth and the switch will work, pretty common.

    Ford 3600 ignition switch question

No clue what happened or what a hub is in the electrical system, must be lost in translation. If I was betting I'd say your NS switch is the problem like most of them.

OT Anyone bought oil in the last week?

If I order oil from WM they send people from the store to deliver to me, not any delivery services just employees or someone with a car that will deliver locally.

Any tricks on making a temporary gas tank

If I was needing a quicky supply of fuel for a short period of time I'd use a quart plastic bottle and a screw on cap that has a nozzle like the type on a bottle of Lucas additive. After filling and inverting you could make a hole to let air in. But I would steer away from rigging like that for...

    I'm buying it: 1951 Ford 8N

My 8N had no starter change and it's been 12v for about 40 years. It also has points and I can't remember the last time I changed or checked them. These tractors were whittled from solid chunks, not pieced together with folded sheet metal. Their biggest enemy are the human hands and unknowing minds.

    8N Charging Issue

If an ammeter is showing volts it is definitely bad. best to replace the ammeter with a voltmeter, like every car manufacturer did 50 years ago, and enjoy your tractor. The ammeter is showing AMPS, that is the amount of amps the tractor is using either to recharge the battery or power whatever...

    I'm buying it: 1951 Ford 8N

3 pages in I say go for it, the combined experience of way over 100 years are just people that don't throw money at projects.

    8N Charging Issue

Ammeter should be the type where the wire just passes across the back and not hardwired. If so then it shows the direction of current flow. If your Jubilee's ammeter stays in the center it means the battery is fully charged or the ammeter isn't working. When you start a tractor the starter...
