    OK, it's 12v, what switch activates the starter? Is it the factor switch which grounds the solenoid to activate it/ 12.6 is the voltage you need and it needs to be everywhere so don't just check at the battery. put the meter on the battery and activate the starter and read the voltage and report...

    Is the tractor wired like it left the factory?, or has it been farmerized? Is it 6v or 12v? Starter should not be connected in any way to the key switch if the tractor is wired as it should be.

    Anyone that doesn't like cow tails is questionable. Micrometers will tell you how much interference fit you have. Autozone lends harmonic balancer installers, harbor Freight sells a decent one.

    Cutting wire covered propane hose

    I cut with a cable cutter, other method is a sharp wide chisel. Have plenty of Band-Aids for the little holes in your fingertips! If I never touch stainelss covered braided hose again it won't hurt my feelings. I use nylon covered hose now, much easier.

    You're talking about the 12v aux power in the 7 pin connector from what I read and you have a battery on the trailer for the winch is that correct? I don't have any switch and the circuit is fused on the truck, or it should be unless someone rigged it direct. My chevy is hot all of the time and...

    Got 12V kit, lost docs, anyone recognize this?

    My 51 8N has been 12v since I bought it almost 40 years ago and doesn't have or need the bypass of the resistor for starting. Buy a 12v coil, wire it and let it eat.

    Steering leak can be fixed by using corn head grease instead of gear oil, do the search and you'll find info on lubing box. My brakes only worked poorly when I had seals leaking and oil on shoes.     Fuel cans that are easy to use

    I bought a battery powered pump from Harbor freight and don't care about a spout or vent. I can fill everything from my 5 gal. can and not have to lift and hold it, much easier on my old body.

    Ford 3000 Diesel vs Gas

    It's over 50 years old, how bad could it be? Seriously like others said about condition. If you buy it make a place to plug it in and have a block heater on it. No heater and you'll be cranking the battery dead in very cold weather.
