4610 Fuel pump leak question
I replaced the shut off valve and the strainer. Was this before or after the running out of fuel? If before then it might have clogged the screen if there was any debris in the tank. Do the fuel flow tests. -

8N refuses to start all of a sudden
Back to basics, spark test and fuel flow followed by compression test if the other tests are good. Now we're also assuming the fuel in the tractor is clean and fresh. And no unless some really crazy thing happened it didn't jump timing. But a human fiddling or a rodent playing could have moved...- Eman85

Advice for leaky head stud!
The stop leak tablets aren't an instant fix, takes a little time for the water to circulate and seal. What was the compression before the work? Was the throtlle butterfly open for the compression test and air filter clear? How did the valves look and did you adjust them? After the oil in cyls...- Eman85

I highly doubt your fix will be 2 figures, need to at least add a zero and change the front number. I don't understand the limping to the barn unless you ran it out and got trash to clog the in tank screen or the other filters. I'd get it to run good again BEFORE removing the pump. I'd say it... -

8N keeps cranking had to disconnect battery
looks like a 1 wire alternator so no diode involved. if he wired it for 3 wires then he needs a diode or an indicator lamp. The sticking solenoid is why when working on a tractor it very important to make sure it's out of gear. If hooking up the battery and the tractor in gear and the...- Eman85

Fuel Line question Ford 640 134cc engine
Not getting in the chemistry bit but I know with racers that run E85 is the pump gives you E70 or so you can attain 85% by evaporating the gasoline by leaving the can open or bubbling it with low pressure air. This is where the small engine problems with e10 or 15 come from. The gas evaporates... -

3600 Muffler / Exhaust Options
My 2600,diesel goes up through the hood and fumes are not a factor, I've even shortened the pipe because it caught low branches. on the other hand my gas tractor had a vertical exhaust and it was not good so I put a horizontal exhaust on it and don't have any problems unless I leave it running... -

youtube video shows using compressed air after capping the pipe and watching for the dirt to move. I question what it would do to the pipe that isn't leaking/broken. I've been lucky in one way that I've always found a pool of water where the pipe broke. We did have to try and isolate one time... -
