Wiring a JD slant dash A

Replying to my own comment, no, it wasn't normal. I had a short somewhere in the ammeter wiring. I think I cranked down too hard on the nuts causing a short. I really feel like I should be adding a fuse someplace in the mix, just for a little added insurance. Thoughts?

Wiring a JD slant dash A

James, That was helpful, thank you. I was able to get everything wired up, but before attaching the battery (I hate dealing with electricity) I used a mutimeter and was surprised that basically everything had connectivity to everything else. Does that seem normal? Seems like that'd cause a...

Wiring a JD slant dash A

Started rewiring a '41 slant dash A and realized I needed a little (or maybe a lot of) guidance. The current wiring is a mess so unfortunately that can't be used as a pattern. Brillman did provide some decent instructions but when I tried to transfer them to a diagram there were a few things...

Factory 3 pt hitch for JD A

Thanks! One of my projects someday is to add hydraulics and a 3 point to my '41 A so this is good information.

Factory 3 pt hitch for JD A

If 800, 800A and 801 all fit on an A what's the difference between the models?

    My non mechanical cousin

Maybe he didn't have somebody to show him how to do it growing up so he's trying to learn now. Just because you know how to do someting doesn't mean everybody else does.

JD B, what should I do?

I thought the slant dash B was semi-rare. If you really wanted a hand crank B then sell this one and purchase what you want but please don't make this one into something it isn't.

'41 A Slant Dash Breather Question

True, but my question still stands. Unless maybe somebody took a breather off a B and put it on my A.

'41 A Slant Dash Breather Question

So I have a '41 A slant dash and have noticed that there were different breathers. Mine looks like the one below where the breather is inside the battery compartment while most seem to have the breather outside the battery compartment. Just wondering when they made that change and if one is more...

    Graham-Bradley Tractor

Unless your tractors are perfect I think those numbers are high. I was recently told of a '38 and a '39 that are for sale in my general area and was told they were worth in the $3,000 to $6,000 range. Of course things all vary by location, quality, weather, people, etc, but hopefully that gives...

    Tired Iron Museum Auction

I have a bid in on something so far. The side of the block is welded alot but hopefully it still runs. I won't be heartbroken if I don't win, especially since I don't have a way to get it back to Ohio yet, but we'll see what happens.

    41 A Cooling System

Sorry for a newbie question but I just want to make sure I'm on the right page here. Before winter sets up I'd like to change the coolant in my '41 A. The attached picture is the coolant drain plug, yes? And it seems like any color antifreeze will work, is this true? Thanks! [/img]
