'41 A Slant Dash Breather Question

So I have a '41 A slant dash and have noticed that there were different breathers. Mine looks like the one below where the breather is inside the battery compartment while most seem to have the breather outside the battery compartment. Just wondering when they made that change and if one is more rare than the other. Thanks.

I know B's had several types listed in the parts catalog and there are serial number breaks for them.
I'd have to look at the A book and see what it lists ? They may of had some serial breaks too.

I'm glad Bob Collins said it was a B.. I thought
at 1st it was a A, but the sheild'd brake drums
& the hi/lo shifter iys a B.. But like a lot
of things I don't know it all, & haven't really
looked at a 39 A all that much.

The breather bolts on to the crank case cover
with two bolts, I don't see why one off a B
couldn't be used on a A Model... My 2 Cents...

Page 43 of the "A" parts catalog lists 3 breather
stacks and 2 breather bodies, an older catalog may
show different pictures, there is just one shown in
the 'current' PC-675. Something to note at the next
show.
