    706 wheel wont budge

    It definitely doesn't feel like a brake. The tire moves back and forth slightly, but stops, like its jammed up. We pulled the transmission cover off and noticed a shifting fork toward the bottom is broke off. If that's broke, then no telling what other damage is done. We've abandon the task...

    Ok, we've jacked the wheel off the ground and you can feel it locked up. It will move slightly, but you can hear as if something is locked in. Can anyone tell me if the parking pin is engaged down on the floorboard, or lifted?

    Ok, I'll check that as well. It's been kept in a barn and out of the weather. It's in great condition, so hopefully there is not too much rust if there is any at all. The brakes seem to be hydraulic as well. Would they even engage without hydraulics running?

    I have to be honest, today is the first time I've messed with it, and the first Farmall I've ever touched. The leaver on the right was in neutral. I guess I'm not sure what "park" is.

    I have an old 706 that I'm trying to pull out of a barn so I can load it on a trailer. The right wheel wont budge and I'm just dragging the tire. I have it in neutral and my dad was even pressing the clutch. Is there an E brake I'm not seeing somewhere? Any help is appreciated. It a propane...

    Thanks tlock0331! Yea it is pretty sentimental. I can remember him using it on an old hammer mill for cattle feed. He eventually got a newer Farmall and let this one sit until my dad got it. It will still be around and running when my son is my age.

    My dad was telling me that there was another tractor (other than John Deere) that had a cross crank / horizontal piston set up. He couldn't remember the name. Anyone here know of one? I'd like to read up on em.

    Your dang right she'll run. There's not much to it. I want to say that's the same year model that I've got. If that pony motor runs good, you should have no trouble. Ease that clutch in. I see a lot of guys at tractor shows jamming it in. Not necessary or correct. Check my recent post...

    The way I see it... if you are willing to pull the head, you might as well do a full overhaul. Pull the crank, pistions, rods and even pull the cylinder block. Take it to your machine shop and they will get you right. Once you re-assemble it, you know that baby is RIGHT. And to be honest...
