    hello Also check that the control linkage isn't binding and that cam that pushes the control valve in neutral is pushing the valve lever all the way out to the neutral postion.

    Check your control lever adjustment because the brake isn"t releasing. also try to find a operators manuel My dad use to run a skidder with a gearmatic winch it drove him mad until he figure out the adjustment on it.

    Have you checked the oil in the pump? It may be full of diesel or nothing. them pumps will surge if they are sort of luberacant. ckeck the oil level by opening the bolt on the side of pump.
