    I put a small spot of weld in the hole where the weights rotate to limit the amount of advance from 30 to 22. Use a caliper to measure the distance in the hole and reduce its size by 25%. (22/30=73) Little trial and error and you got it.

    I measured the gasket to be around 0.057-0.060 thick after I removed it. The pistons protrude 0.023 above the block so I have about 0.034" clearance now. Before the "front" was filed off I'd estimate 0.015-0.020 clearance is all.

    Search for MD or MV, if you search for M it comes up that it needs 3 letters. In the MD or MV you'll see it has the carbureted engine within it. The gasket I mention is the water pump bearing retainer gasket 21839DB.
