MF 285 and Bush Hog 10 ft rotary cutter- proper setup and operation?

I used a JD 1008, 10'-6" mower with my MF175 with independent PTO with no problems. All that m16tyb said. Those bigger mowers act like a flywheel and take a while to slow down. Just be careful with sharp turns.

    Perkins AD4.203 - A4.236 interchangable

The AD4.203 or almost any Perkins is a relatively easy rebuild. If it can be done on the tractor, even easier. I have done two: the AD4.203 on my 165 and the AD4.236 on my 175. One on the tractor and the other with the block removed. On the tractor the only problem is that you can't replace the...

    Massey Ferguson 10 Baler Question

Wire ties are not common in the mid-Atlantic where I am. If you are planning to make hay for sale I would avoid the wire tie. Some folks feed the bales unbroken and the wire is hazardous. Wire is difficult to handle and dispose of, while there always seem to be a use for the twine.

My new Massey Ferguson 135 diesel!

I planted in approx. 20'wide strips with an approx. 6' wide grass strip between, so I did each plant initially with a packpack sprayer. When they got taller just the outside several rows. You can spray at a waking pace; it is not necessary to cover the complete plant. I use the powder...

My new Massey Ferguson 135 diesel!

Congrats on the tractor. I plant sunflowers using an MF 165. On new ground I first spray with Roundup in April. After the growth is dead I till using a 6' rototiller at a shallow setting, making additional passes to max depth (6-8 inches). The tiller has a back shield adjustment that can vary...

    236 Loader brackets

I have a 236 on a MF175. The manual lists the same mounting brackets for the 165, 175, 255, 265, and 275. The manual also shows the parts pics to be the same with the same mounting instructions.

    Massey 175 flywheel question

There is a procedure for installing the fly wheel so that timing marks are in correct position relative to the crankshaft. I have the factory service manual and will scan the two pages that apply. I am assuming that it is a diesel.

    Spool Valve on MF165

The control valve is a two spool no. 677-421. It is a direct bolt up. I have one on my 165. The bolts are 7/16-16. From the looks of the cover that you had removed it appears that that it may have been drilled out larger. And 1/2" bolts used. I would check the hydraulic cover to see if that will...

    Ferguson pto rake

It has been a number of years since I did this, but if I recall correctly each one of the bars needs to unbolted from the spokes of the big wheel. I did it one bar at a time. It is a good opportunity to check the bearings, etc. for the bars. It was a great rake, but the mount and dismount was...

    Ferguson pto rake

The size depends on the model number. Here are two pages from the parts book, also available on Agco parts website.

    MF 135 fuel sending unit

I recently installed a VDO 226-007 sender in a MF175 diesel. Here is a link to the installation instructions. https://static.summitracing.com/global/images/instructions/vdo-226007.pdf

    MF 165 generator replacement

I have a early diesel 165 with a generator (no tach drive) that has ceased generating. All States Ag Parts (www.tractorpartsasap.com) has a new Lucas style generator that is supposed to fit the 165. $100.00 less 15% Thursday and Friday. The original is a Delco. I had considered a one wire...
