    3010 diesel injector stuck.

Thank you fellas for the advice. I did try giving the injector a twist last night and I did get the injector to move back and forth about 15 degrees. I was also able to lift it out if the bore about 1/8 of an inch, Just enough to see where the top and bottom of the injector thread together. I...

    3010 diesel injector stuck.

I am looking for tips or advice on removing a stuck injector on my 1961 3010. Injectors 2,3 and 4 came out easily with just a small amount of pressure from a large screwdriver. Number one injector is stuck fast. I have been soaking it with PB blaster everyday for over a month and still it...

    Everyone's different favorite motor Sounds?

The howl of a IH350 chopper being powered by our JD 70 in good corn. Could hear it a mile away. The 265 Chrysler flat head in my Massey 101 Sr. puller. Had it rigged up with a 2 carb Ellis intake and 6 straight pipes....that motor would sing!

How many on YT actually use yesterday's tractors?

Newest tractor on our small farm is a 1974 830 JD 3 cylinder with a 145 loader. 1965 JD 4020 PS 1963 JD 3010 1961 JD 4010 GAS 1953 JD 70 1950 JD A 1941 Ford 9N None of them are pretty but they are all strait and well maintained. With the exception of the 9N and the 70, they all earn their keep.

Some of the things I kinda miss...

The John Deere B running the baler in a good crop of hay. The pssst, pssst, pssst of the Surge bucket milker running in Grandpa's milk house. Udder wash and bag balm. The smell of molasses getting mixed with the ground corn at the mill.

    Tire ballast

According to a John Deere publication I have from WW2 called "Keeping your Farm Equipment in the Fight" 461 lbs per tire. This is for a 13.5x24 tire using 137.6 lbs of chloride and 38.8 gallons of water.....not exactly a 14.9x24 but it should be close.

    6600

My 4420 does that occasionally. The sediment bowl and screen are plugged and starving the lift pump of fuel. After cleaning and you have placed the bowl back on the tank, turn the fuel on and loosen the nut that holds the glass bowl on the tank. This allows the air to escape and the bowl can...

    JD 4420 feederhouse question

I was adjusting the feeder house chain in my 4420 today and noticed the pan under the chain is not attached on the front. (nearest the header). I could pick it up a couple of inches like it is hinged on the back, (nearest the cylinder). I couldn't find any mention of this in the manual and...

    14t capacity

We have been running a 14T since the mid 60's. I would agree that about 150 bales per hour is a good number. Have run the baler with a 49 JD "B", several different "A's" a JD "70", Allis WD, Oliver 1650 and JD 3010. The 1650 worked the best because of the Over-Under HydraulShift. Ground speed...

    bought john deere

If you haven't done it already, check the battery cable ends. My 4420 had a cracked/loose end and that caused the alternator light to stay on. Replaced the end and charging problem solved.

    New Holland Baler Twine 1965

When I was a kid in the late 60's I remember that twine (super 9) being used in the John Deere 14T baler we rented from a neighbor. Their was an Allis Chalmers dealer in town that sold New Holland hay equipment and supply's. Dad bought that bailer in 1972 and we continued to use New Holland...

Allis Chalmers 66 All crop. Came to the farm in 1977. Pulled it with a JD 70. WAY to fast of a first gear for this machine. In 1989 a 1965 JD 45EB open station. Added a cab the following year.
