    long line at tire store

Bicycling across the Rockies many years ago we told a girl she had to stop on the Continrntel Divide and change her tire air from West air to East air. Hard to believe, but we caught up with her on top of some pass or other, and she was pumping a rear tire back up ..... True story.

1020 rear axle housing grease zerks

I realized some time ago that there are many different kinds of zerks. Different sizes, some threaded, some drive-in, some long, some short. I bought an assortment, keep them in a Plano plastic tray, with different comaprtments. I can select the right one.

    Cub Cadet GT2550

I have an odd thing; I put on LED lights, run directly off the battery thru a fuse, and they work great. Now however, when I shut off the motor, the lights glow very dim. Cannot be shut off. Also, and I may be wrong about this, but when I come in from mowing grass, the mower deck stays on...

    Learning things

Yeah, I learned the hard way that the 4-bolt offset taper-bolt plate thing in the drive train of the H Farmall, can be isntalled two ways; with minimum space in there, and with maximum space. DO NO INSTALL it with the minimum space; the end of the drive shaft will not fit into the pilot bearing...

    1951 Farmall H - no Liftall

I never understood it, but ordinary lumber-yard plumbing fittings and pipe nipples could withstand the Liftall pressure. I thought the Liftall pressures were 600 - 800 psi, but regular fittings seem to work.

    Back to my flat tire

Yeah but it aint that simple. When the tire expands and contracts, V is not constant, and V directly changes. Also, that is a perfect gas equation, and air isn't perfect.

    H thermostat

My 1950 H never did warm up until I put on a set of shutters. Now she's just fine.
