    Super 90 batteries

I had a Super 90 for many years and I used two group 30 batteries in it connected in parallel for the 12 volt system. I believe the group 31 batteries will also work. Thsee batteries are part of the secret to these tractors staring so well in cold weather as the two batteries roll it over fast...

Final Adjustments on a 165 lift cover

I’m working on a MF 165 tractor with pressure control. I have ordered the MF 272 Block from VL Churchill tooling for adjusting the ram arm travel. The MF service manual references that in using the MFN-970, US version of MF 272, to install it with the .470 side towards the ram arm for the 7/8”...

    MF 35 troubles

It sounds to me like the fuel filter is plugged on it. When this happens the engine will just die and you can’t restart it. I would change the filter, bleed the air out of the fuel system per the instructions in the owner’s manual and see if that doesn’t fix the problem. It’s a canister filter...

MF35 rebuilt z134 will not start

Static timing should be set at 6 degrees BTDC. Also, when installing the spark wires from distrib. to the plugs keep in mind that the distributor rotor turns counterclockwise.

MF35 rebuilt z134 will not start

To check that the timing is set as #1 piston is coming up on TDC, remove the coil wire from the coil and also remove the spark plugs. Bump the starter button several times while holding a finger over the #1 spark plus hole. As #1 piston comes up on compression you can feel the pressure...

    F40 electrical problem

It could be a couple of things. The push button used to start the tractor could be stuck. Unhook one of the wires on it to determine if it is the problem. The other possibility is the wires for the push button are shorted together providing continuous current to the solenoid.

What did this continental F140 come from originally?

The F140 was used in the mid production range of the Massey 101 Jr., all of the 22s and the #23 Mustang through 1956 and the 35 self propelled combine. Yes they were used after name changed to Massey Ferguson. The 35 combine was built as a Massey Harris from 1958 to 1962 and as a Massey Ferguson...

    MF50 clutch

The release lever bolts have to be adjusted after installing the clutch assembly onto the flywheel as the flywheel is used to gauge their height. They cannot be adjusted on a work bench to the correct heigh as the amount of wear to the clutch face on the flywheel varies from tractor to tractor...

    Big exhaust manifold Massey Harris

The one in your pictures is for a Massey Harris 44 tractor. H260 identifies it as for an H260 engine, the engine used in the 44.

    MF50 clutch

Assuming you have the two stage clutch, after the pressure plate is assembled with the pto clutch plate in place (assuming the 9" spring pressure plate was installed correctly and remained seated properly during reassembly) and it is installed on the flywheel, there are two different adjustments...

is it a massey ferguson 2800 or 2805?

My father was a Massey dealer during this time period and I have a 1992 North American Dealers Assoc. official guide book from the dealership. According to the book, they do not list any serial numbers for the 2800's. However they list serial numbers for each year beginning in 1976 through...

is it a massey ferguson 2800 or 2805?

There is another thread on this web site titled Differences between MF 2805 and MF 2800. It provides some interesting information and based upon the discussions it sounds like you have a 2800 that was updated to a 2805. Based upon your serial number, muffler close to the cab and steel fuel...

    Mf 35 perkins diesel 3.152

It is located in one of two places on the engine block. One is on the timing gear housing where the injector pump mounts to the engine (by the top of the pump). If it is not there it is on the rear of the block above the bell housing adapter plate. It is stamped into the engine block and should...

    mf65 diesel 12v fuel heater

If you have the original starter switch on the tractor, there are three position plus the neutral return position on it. If you turn the switch to the left it only operates the starter. If you turn it one position to the right it operators the manifold heater only. Turning it to the next...
