ford 9n hard start
well spring is here...... still hard to start.... still cant find anything wrong with carb.... tried [b:21bcdaa0b3]old [/b:21bcdaa0b3]coil on the new elec ign but couldnt leave it on to check the hard start as it dies when it gets warm. anyone think it could be a bad coil? 2-105 12 Volt Battery Option?
dad had an 1870 white...(the minnie g900 motor was in it ) that motor was huge.. with an equally huge starter.... when new it had 2 12v batteries in it.... one "regular" 500 cca battery wouldn't really do it.... But one of those red topped "OPTIMA" batteries would fire that sucker right up...- fireater

ford 9n hard start
rebuilt motor completely.... sleeves pistons electronic 6 volt pertronix.... when starting the starter wants to disengage b4 it starts.. you can hear it try to fire but the starter disengages....what do u think? timing too advanced? also cant make it idle... rebuilt carb twice now...- fireater

Seating the Rings
also means run it up to operating temp and put a mall load on it...rings like that when new... gets them hot so they can conform to the cylinder walls better so it wont burn oil- fireater

electrical troubleshooting
our old frost free Inglis fridge did that.... run constantly.... would freeze up... turned out it was developing a slow freon leak... had guy out to look at it he couldnt find anything wrong except low on freon. topped it up ran great for 2 more years then the leak got worse.. we bought new... -

oliver starter
bought one from smittys tractor parts in ohio for 180 bux US funds....all i can say is wow...the old 1650 starts without preheater even now with 5 degrees of frost or more- fireater

oliver 1650 killing out at full throttle?????
diesel or gas? diesel.. needs fuel filter and aircleaner possibly gas...start with tuneup..plugs cap rotor aircleaner go from there- fireater

a couple of cups of diesel fuel in the gas keeps them lubed up -
