    Gehl 3825SX Skid Steer

Figured I'd post this here because I didn't see another section for it. I just bought a Gehl 3825SX skid steer off of my great uncle that has been in the family since new. It was used at a stockyard for cleaning pens for most of its life, but lived a life of retirement since 2008, but had been...

Foot Throttle for a MF 150

Been looking into this some, I believe one could be made to work. I haven't found one ever listed for the 150 in the parts book. Looks like a foot throttle from a MF 165 would mount to the footrest. Then it would just need a modification of the linkage by adding a quadrant for the hand and foot...

JD 1640 Rough Idle and Fuel Leaks

I baled hay with it tonight. Seemed to run well and had plenty of power, I think I just lugged it down cutting hay a couple of days ago. It will not idle around 750 well gets sporatic, seems to run ok around 1000 rpm. Since it leaking, figured it's worth just getting it rebuilt.

Foot Throttle for a MF 150

I see a lot of aftermarket kits for a 135 and a few 200 series models, but not much for a 150. Did the 150 ever come from the factory with one? Has anyone modified an aftermarket kit to fit? I would like one as I'm making hay in an area with a lot of hills and can see the use of one while...

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

Raked with it some more tonight. With @Jim.ME suggestion I turned up the hydraulic response and it seemed to help. Once I got the timing down I seemed to do pretty good with it. I'll leave it well enough alone and just continue to rake with it.

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

Yes to the diverter, and a Cross spool valve. https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/TS200BA_Valve_11670.htm I didn't think about the hydraulic response speed.... That would be a great place to start! The speed it raises is fine; it is just slow to lower.

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

If I was to add a line, it would be because that is what the owner's manual says to do without a float position. Also, it the slots for the pins of the cylinder/linkage mounting helps with movement. I think there is a restrictor in the line as it goes into the cylinder. I'm raking with a MF...

JD 1640 Rough Idle and Fuel Leaks

Thought about that too, but don't know how to test them. Looks like they're JD pencil injectors. Looks like new ones are relatively cheap.

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

I know for a fact my old hay rake had a restrictor on one hose for the cylinder. I can do similar; I'll fine tune this setup to get it how I like.

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

I understand that, but at least I would be able to control speed with the valve.

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

So, I got the rake home and raked some with it yesterday evening. I don't think the other hydraulic line is required, but I'm going to add it anyways. It is plenty fast on pickup of the rake, but painfully slow on the lowering of the rake wheels. I'm guessing the cylinder sort of gets fluid...

JD 1640 Rough Idle and Fuel Leaks

I've got a 1640 with a SG2 cab. It is basically the same as a 2350 with the 4239 engine. I've noticed lately that I get a pretty rough idle when it is below 1000 rpms. I don't know if it has a misfire or it could be a pump issue? Once you get above 1000 rpms it runs well. I've noticed a lot...

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

Correct, yes that is what I was thinking as well. Just trying to figure out why the owner's manual would want you to install another hose if you don't have the float position on a hydraulic remote? I'm going to try it and see how it works before I would put another hose on it.

New Idea 4308 Wheel V Rake

I ended up winning it at auction. It is not a high-capacity rake but looks to be a well-built carted rake and has windrow and raking width adjustments that seem to make sense and will work. Also, would fit my MF150 I plan on raking with, only one remote and one cylinder to actuate with the...

More Bush Hog shear pin issues.

First, which type driveshaft do you have? There are shear bolt protections that are perpendicular to the drive line, then there are shear bolts that are parallel to the driveline. Mine is parallel and had a 6 spline with the push button lock on both ends of the driveshaft. One at tractor end...
