Leaky thermostat gasket
Have changed coolant on my 7710.Replaced thermostat and gasket. Once i started pouring the third jug into the rad, the thermostat gasket started to leak. All surfaces are clean. Two bolts holding it in place are tight. Should i wait for the coolant to swell the new gasket, before adding more... -

1963 Farmal 140 coil issue.
I bet the shop doing my conversion put a used coil on there and charged me for a new one!!!! Im thinking there is only about 100 hrs on that coil.- fordforce

1963 Farmal 140 coil issue.
Have a Farmal 140 . Two years ago had it converted to 12 v. New alternator, 12 v coil and solid state ignition (pertronix) installed. Has been starting good. but as you use it, say for a half hour, starts to miss and run rough. If you stop the engine and try to restart it, will not fire. Touch...- fordforce

Hi Jim. No, lost the nut a year ago. I will try for a nut and see if i can get this running. If i cant get a nut i may have to just weld a bigger nut on the shaft and go from there. Thanks so much for the info.- fordforce

Was working up the garden and suddenly the pto slipped off my rotovator and was flailing about. I tried to find nut with a metal detector but no luck. So I took a measurement of the threaded end of the shaft where the nut was. Measures.900" I Don't know but I think its metric. 7/8" would be...- fordforce

Upgrade from 2000 gas burner

73 Ford 3000, I love this tractor.....BUT
GB,thats 47 years of oil,diesel fuel accumulation with dust. Its normal. I have 7 working tractors(5 Fords), always use a funnel to top up/fill with oil. Work off the farm. no time to keep super clean. Be grateful its relatively in tacked and running. -

Hey Bern head is off 7710
Destroked 450, you hit the nail on the head. The seal went out in the turbo. I seen the oily intake manifold and some oil in the turbo charger, but im such a newbie, i didnt join the dots. Its all good. Head and turbo going into shop to get rebuilt. Should be good to go shortly. Thx for your... -

Hey Bern head is off 7710
Nope no slime under valve cover.No coolant in the oil. Im begining to think it might be valve stem issues.
