    Starting issues

I had GTO cars that did the same thing. The wire from the switch to the solenoid (located on the starter which was under the manifold) was to small and would build up resistance from the heat. Bigger gauge wire solved the problem.

    2520 diesel blowby

I had a 2520 that did the same - oil & water came out of the breather. In my case it was cavitation of the block so the liners wouldn't seal because the coolant hadn't been kept up. Good place to start is get some coolant test strips and check the antifreeze.

    Any Mannheim Experts?

If you're wanting someone to work on it, there's always a JD dealer if no one else. Around here, they are $200.00 / hour. Or you might get a manual if you want to work on yourself. I had a 2240 that the three point didn't work right and after doing the adjustments in the manual it worked as...

What size plow for a JD 5210

Where I grew up in sandy soil a 45 hp tractor pulled 5-16s @ 4.5 mph. Where I live now the clay soil is a load for a 45 hp tractor pulling 2-16s. Since you're only talking a couple hours a hear, 2-16s should make the fun of plowing last just a bit longer.

    Ih 706 d282 more power

I'm not that familiar with a 706, but when you start adding a lot of hp, you put a lot of extra stress on everything behind the engine that it wasn't designed for. It's only as good as the weakest part. Pulliing isn't just hp, lots more to it than that. All the hp does no good when you...

    Restoring G

I stock G was made to run on distillate so it has a very low compression ratio, something like 4.5 to one. Bring that up and you can pretty much double the horsepower. I have a 49 G that the former owner overhaul in 1961 with M&W Pistons and it’ll Dino over 70 horse.

    Ih 706 tractor pulling speed

Traction (balanced right, lower tire pressure, and worn tires) will nnalert speed. I had a 706 gas and I would guess 2-4 mph is about as fast as you want to pull.

JD 5410 Radiator Leak - Replacement

Fix the one you have. You're sure it will fit right because there's no guarantee a new one will fit correctly and will likely be aluminum. Just went through this with a 4020. The vendor took it back with a full refund and I don't blame them as they buy from a supplier and assume it will be...

    620/630 vs 3020 gas

The ground here is very heavy. My 620 can pull 2-16s but really wouldn’t want any more. I had a 2520 diesel and it would pull 3-16s without a problem.

    18.4x38s tires for JD 730, Farmall 706?

Kind of like a guy with a size 9 foot wearing a size 12 shoe.

    1951 JD G: Rough Running after Start-Up

The right plug is always the one that fouls out first on a G. Might start with the carburator - maybe to rich is the plug fouls that quick.

    Jd G generator

The longer center of the pulley is toward the generator.

    Jd G generator

1949 G generator. Tractor is pretty much all original.

    JD 620 filler neck tool

Same thing happens to my 620. Not sure but there maybe is a vent tube that could be plugged? If you don't fill it as full of gas it will be less of a problem.

    Steps for a 3010

Bought this set from John Deere. Very solid and easy to get on the tractor. The bottom step is optional with the kit. Not real cheap, but less than hospital bills not to mention the pain and misery that goes with it.
