    Rollag #3

When a guy comes up to you and starts explaining to your kids how to identify a Case tractor and he says something about his, "brother Pastor John", there's only one guy it could be... It was great to meet you, Chuck. You looked good in the parade, too!

    Case SC brake springs

Looking to see if anyone has any leads on replacement internal springs for the pre-'52 style independent brakes on an SC. Part number is 05890AB. Mine have compressed and are no longer functioning.

What is my DC head telling me?

After a week or so of highs below 0, it finally warmed up enough a few weeks ago for me to fire up the DC. It struggled to start and maintain RPMs. After idling for awhile, I noticed oil leaking out of the exhaust manifold by the gasket. A little bit later oil had worked its way up the...

Need help identifying parts out of a '43 S

Bought a 1943 S at auction. I drained the engine and rear end and found this piece at the bottom of one of the oil pans. The oil pans got set aside for awhile so I don't know if this piece came from the engine or the rear end. Can anyone tell me what this is and where it came from?

    DC Platform steps

I'm not very creative when it comes to machining and fabricating. Does anyone have any suggestions for establishing some good steps off the 2 point hitch off a DC? More than once when it's been wet or snowy my boot has slipped and I've banged my shin. I'd appreciate any input and/or pictures...

    Off topic question

A very good friend and I were talking about potential promotions at my old company years ago and he said that if they give you a 20% raise, then they're going to expect 20% more work out of you. And if that work is work you hate, then you're going to be even more miserable. I am almost 3 years...

    O/T Truck tire chains - help/suggestions

Would you forumers give me your two cents/recommendations regarding tire chains? I drive a 2002 3/4 ton Silverado and while the 4wd is great, I still find myself periodically skidding about a bit. That I can handle, but what I'm really concerned about is getting into a situation where the snow...

1944 Older D DC Owners Where is your Reverse?

My '48 DI is up to the left, my '49 DC is up to the right. I thought I read that time period was when Case made that a permanent switch - late '48 to early '49.

    DI Throttle linkage

I appreciate the input. I have a parts book which does help with "what attaches to what", but I"m more looking for where the rods bend and where they mount (which holes they go through) which is why any closeup pictures would be helpful.

    DI Throttle linkage

Would someone be able to post a couple of pictures of a DI's throttle linkage for me? The throttle rods on my 1948 DI came all bent and twisted and I'd like to get them straightened and mounted correctly. I'm good from the carb around the front of the engine to where the first rod ends near...

wrong things happen when in a hurry

We have a pair of SC"s that would periodically refuse to start during the winter months. One time Dad got his "54 SC started, but he couldn"t get the "41 to fire. We put a chain on and he dragged me on the "41 up and down the road with me easing in the clutch and she just wouldn"t catch at...

VAI problems - need some help

I've been having problems with my VAI this winter that have been getting progressively worse. It's mainly a power issue - it runs like a top at idle or when I give it gas, but as soon as I start pushing snow or going uphill, even at full throttle, it starts chugging. Then this evening things...
