Lift not working once warmed up. 861

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind once I get the manuals. I've already put the cover back on for now. I also think next time I'll remove that left tire for a better view.

Lift not working once warmed up. 861

OK. Thanks for all the help. The tractor came with a valve on the plate. I replace the top cover because I noticed a crack. That's probably when I bought the manual before. Email shows that was 2011. I just didn't put the valve back on because I wasn't using it. Might put it back on while I'm...

Lift not working once warmed up. 861

Sounds like I need to get some kind of gauge to check that? I ordered a set of manuals. The one I have some where is the FO-20 manual. I ordered a set with to different manuals so I at least won’t have duplicates. Think I’ll just wait for them before I go any further. I can still use it as is...

Lift not working once warmed up. 861

I looked in there. I seen fluid coming down from the top. I guess that's the piston leaking? The lift was working. I had it up when looking in there. Still wouldn't lift the three layers of blocks. I removed two layers and it picked the one layer up. Pulled out from under them to work on it...

Lift not working once warmed up. 861

You said to remove one of the inspection covers. Looks like it only has the one on the left side where the lever is to engage the PTO. Is that the one you are talking about? Sorry for the dumb questions. I bought a manual for it back in 2011. Used it then and put it up. Now I've got to find...

Lift not working once warmed up. 861

Thanks for the help. I'll take a look at that tomorrow. It would hardy lift at all when I tried it this morning.

Lift not working once warmed up. 861

Got a '58 861. Lift works when you first get on it. But as it warms up it quits working. Had the problem the other day moving shingles. It works for the first pallet. Then it would hardy lift. Tried it again today moving some cement blocks. Moved one pallet of 28 blocks. That's about 980 pounds...

    Homemade cab?

Well, Apparently not. Good there is someone on here that knows everything. Thanks.

    Homemade cab?

Seen this on Market Place. I guess this is a cab someone made isn't it? Looks like someone put some effort into it. I don't see why though. It doesn't keep the rain out or the heat in. I guess if it was fully enclosed you could get heat from the engine. I wouldn't want to chance that with these...

    No oil in filter

Filter must just be bad then. I don't know how long it's been since the last oil change. The oil still looks good. It was showing right at the full level. But I always check it cold. Guess the thing to do is check it. Run the engine a few minutes. Then check it again. With the check valve not...

    No oil in filter

Must be the wrong filter then. It's a WIX 51189. It spins on to the side. Most filters I deal with are straight up and down. So once I pull them I turn them up to drain them. The ones that should be used are not suppose to drain at all?

    No oil in filter

My 861 runs good. Show around 40 pounds of oil pressure. Burns a little oil. But not much. Starter went out. Ordered a replacement. Got delayed in the mail. That seems pretty common these days. So it been sitting for over a month by the time the starter came in. Went out there to pull the old...

    Steel Coney thing?

Square Eye, Did the ones you used have a pipe for a shaft like mine? Or were they one solid piece like the one Brian has shown?

    Steel Coney thing?

No, It doesn't look like it's been hammered on. I'm in South West Missouri. Ground is pretty rocky. So it's mostly used as Ranch land. Not much farming. I've never heard of anyone growing Hops around here. But they might had. Course someone could had just brought it with them when they moved. We...
