    3020 starting issue.

    I pulled everything away from the starter (cab parts and side panel). I tapped on the starter and solenoid with a hammer and it briefly tried to turn. It didn?t sound right. I?ll pull the starter and take it to the shop. It?s not real easy with the loader on it, but I?ve done it before. Thanks!

    3020 starting issue.

    I?m getting 12.5 volts at the large terminal on the belly of the starter. 12.5 volts from the other large terminal to the yellow wire when pushing the starter button. 24.9 volts between the two large terminals. I suspect the solenoid or starter is bad.

    Thanks for the info everyone. I put the starter in about two years ago. It was used when I bought it but it?s been working great for two years. I?ll pull it out and see if I can have it tested. Again thanks.

    Sorry, not sure what you mean. Check voltage, continuity? I checked the voltage of each battery (12.7) and load tested them - they were fine.

    Thanks for the input guys. I haven?t seen very many MFWD 2240?s. Maybe that?s the reason. Apparently this one has had a loader on it. He also said the threaded bolt holes that connect the front and rear frames are messed up, and the frame is starting to separate.

    Replaced both batteries, and all new battery cable connectors. Two of them were cracked. Put it back together and it fired right up. Thanks everyone for your advice, it was much appreciated!

    Pulled the cables and cleaned the terminals. The positive terminal on one battery was partially melted. That must have been causing the sizzling sound I heard. I load tested them, one was weak, the melted one was shot. Heading to town to pick up a couple new ones. I?ll let you know if...
