We in NY posted about snow on the ground Tuesday morning. It got to 89.4 according to my Davis weather station at 2:37 this afternoon. Every farmer around here is BTTW getting crops in. These are some pics. of the uncles getting the job done.

Need help from AC/Gleaner mechanics (or anyone who can help)

The PTO shaft splines are frozen in the drive plat or the dowel pins are frozen in the housing. You can remove the 6 5/16" bolts holdiong the plate to the flywheel through the starter hole to remove the plate with the housing. If the dowels are stuck, you can heat around the dowels to get them...

Do I have the cob shield installed correctly in my Gleaner?

It just goes to show that you are never too old to learn something new. In my part of the country, I never saw one of those shields installed or used.

Do I have the cob shield installed correctly in my Gleaner?

No, you do not have it installed in the right location. I believe that this shield is supposed to be at the rear of the straw walkers and not at the front. If you could post the part # on the tag on the shield, I could look it up in a parts book and give you a definite location. In 32 years...

    F3 Curtain Over Raddle

You don't have to take the curtain out for corn. It can be swung up and held in the raised position by inserting a long bolt through a hole in each side of the machine with a nut on both sides to hold the curtain in the raised position. Gordon

Another Gleaner K bad bearing, this one is big and ugly...

The Gleaner part # for the bearing is 71117051. The bearing itself is not a self aligning bearing. The outer race of this bearing is flat but it is mounted in a curved spacer that gives it the ability to be self aligning. If you examine the outer race that you took off of the shaft I think...

    180 hydraulics

There is no lift pump in the transmission for the hydraulics. If the hydraulics is still jumpy after doing the things that you have already done, then I would suggest that you check for an air leak at the suction hose at the pump. If this doesn"t solve the problem, then the last place to look...

    180 hydraulics

Yes, there is a screen that the oil has to pass through to get to the suction tube. It is located on top fo the manifold that the suction tube and return tube are fastened to and is held in place by the gasket where the manifold bolts to the housing. The easy way to tell if the screen is...

    Need Somebody Smart (F2)

When you are talking alignment of the main clutchshaft, you are referring to the straight F. The F2 bearing brackets are bolted solid to the sides with no adjustment front to back. The left bearing holder holds the shaft in position for side alignment. it is easier to put the left side...

    D 19 Hyd.

This sounds like the same kind of problem that I had with a cutomer that was pulling a 7000 Deere planter behind his D19. He could pick the planterup, lower the planter and when he tried to pick the planter up the second time it would start to raise and then quit. What was happening was that...
