What's the average parts cost for an 8N overhaul today.

i have put 1100 into mine and have not even touched the motor internals. It will be the last one though. Not much use for a -2000 equity tractor when you don't have acers upon acres to farm. Looks good and runs good but, once it has run its course this time i wil have to break down and get an...

'48 8N Front mount distributor shaft

common sense told me there shouldn't be that is why i ordered the new bushing. this would cause rotor tip not to make proper contact to the Dis. Cap. there was slop with the top out and just the shaft in the base. top is good. this might be the reason why i had so much trouble getting it to...

    Pertronix ignition...

I had the same question and emailed Marvin at pertronix ([email protected]) this is what he stated to me for the 6v +ground 8N. Wire on top of the coil goes to the chassi. The long loose wire on the EI connects to the Red/Grn wire or the Ignition switch. AND YES YOU CAN "SMOKE" AN IGNITOR...

Well the pig tail on the coil was about .0625 shorter on the old one and sings of arcing, rotor (after i pulled it off was chipped inside where the shaft sets, contact tip on the rotor was worn, and going with the look of the rotor figured the cap might need replacing too. this is my...

New wiring harness, new plugs, new electronic ignition, new Volt reg, new resistor block, new ignition switch, new battery. Old coil, old rotor, old starter, old genny. It will turn over but no fire at the plug. I can pull one plug hold it to the manifold and don't get a spark. Not even a cold...

    8N Wiring Harness Questions

OK. I ran a search for 8N Wiring harness and have looked through about 200 of the 2700 post that were found and have a little more understanding (just a little) of how it is suppose to be wired. From the posts i understand that in Fig. F071 wire# 7 should terminate on the + terminal of the two...
