    Reliance ag parts quality

    Overhauled my 504 2 years ago. First day in the field all 3 head gaskets leaked. Put oem gaskets in last winter and didn't leak all spring. Other than that so far so good. I didn't replace cam or lifters.

    Case 5130 Hydraulics

    Allis Chalmers uses shims on their valve for the same reason. 7000 series. 3/8 bolts I think.

    504 head retorque

    Didnt really have the propper tool to check protrusion. Used a straight edge and feeler guage. seemed to be within spec.Zero to .006 I think.Its not bad enough to drip on the floor but it did make a mess down both sides of the block in 30 hours.

    I went ahead with the 504 swap into my 1270. Did a complete overhaul as it had a bad crank. Used a Reliance overhaul kit. Runs great but all three head gaskets leak.     Have a chance to get an engine out of a 2590 to put in my 1270. Anyone know of any complications I might run in to? Parts book shows different numbers for flywheel and ring gear.Anyone know what the difference is or if the 1270 flywheel will work?If I use the fan and pulleys from the 2590 will...

    I didn't know about the sale until this evening. Wish I could have gone. I was there several years ago he had 20 or 2290 with I think 8 hours on it.Would like to hear what some of the other tractors went for.

    Needs overhauled.Rest of the tractor is in good shape.Could use a little more power.Havent checked into what it would cost to bore the block.
