930 Case Rowcrop Engine

I'm in the process of helping my father in-law restore a 930 case. We bought the 930 knowing the engine was bad. Well after getting into the engine its worse than what I would have thought!! It has 2 bent rods!!! I'm thinking somebody used ether to start it or something.
Long story short, does anybody have a good used running engine for a 930 rowcrop? Or do you know of any place where I could buy one?

I'm in Minnesota

Thanks

Kev

I have an engine we took out to put a 504 in for pulling, needs the pump put back on and probably a good timing check. I could let it go for a 1000.00

Where is this engine located?

W9,

I am checking to make sure the 930 is an 8 speed as the bell housing pattern is different on the 6 speed models and will not bolt up, I know a man who made just that mistake and it is worth mentioning.

Thanks gpurrs

Hopefully somebody will chime in here and let us know if this engine will fit or not. I don't know a lot about the Case tractors.....yet!

I would rather put a used engine in this tractor, rebuilding the current engine is going to be too expensive for what the tractor is going to get used for. It will only be ran once or twice a year.... just fixing it up for something to do.

Thanks

KEV

Kev,The engine from a 6 speed tractor does not have the same bell housing pattern as the eight speed model does, could you post pictures so we can identify the tractor you have and hopefully the donor tractor all eight speed tractors shared a common bell housing. A picture of the shifter and the side of the transmission would be helpful. The problem here is that the 930 was sold in two configurations and engines are not compatible between them.
