    I bought a 1950 AR a while back. Ran great. NO problems other than the clutch slipping. I replaced the clutch discs last week and drove it a couple times to get it set. Drove it out of the shed Saturday...ran it back in at the end of the day. Ran perfectly. Old timey show coming up this weekend...

    The orchard model usually had individual turning brakes and you could order them on the regular AR, but they normally had the service brake.

    I recently got a '50 styled AR. Just got the Operators manual for it. It states that to operate the powr-trol pump, that you engage the lever while turning the engine over with the starter. So, basically if you want the pump running, you have to engage it before you start the tractor?? Can't...

    Brakes on '50 AR?

    Thanks Ron. Are these a spring loaded band, something like the service brake on the '49? You can't hardly touch them without them locking up the wheels! I don't know if they're adjusted too tight or if it's just from lack of use.

    I know, what I'm looking for is what I should start looking at to help free up the brakes on the 50. As I stated, I haven't received my books yet and I'd like to start somewhere. I rebuilt the service brake on the '49 but that's a bit different than the brakes on the '50.
