    Same here with YT, ordered a proof meter for my 8n, they sent a proof meter for a NAA. Order form and box said 8N, and they agreed the wrong part was in the box, since I did not realize it till I had 10 hrs on it they would do nothing for me. Done with them.

    I have a '51 8n with original Marvel tsx carb, I need the 4 screws that hold both halves together, and the brass plug for the bottom of the bowl. Is this something I can pick up at the hardware store? If so what size do I need? Thanks.

    Adding a Proof Meter to an 8N

    On the face of the 8n proof meter it will read Hours at 1580 rpm, if it is an Naa meter it will read Hours at 1515rpm. YT has been known to send out the wrong meter. This post was edited by Grinderhead on 11/05/2021 at 08:29 am.

    Ford 8n Precleaner source

    I never had much luck keeping the glass jar from being knocked off by a low hanging limb with the way the cup and bail held the jar. A quick hack, glue a mason jar threaded band up in the top and screw the mason jar in place.

    Is it ok to use a 160deg. thermostat in my 8n, I know there is an 180 deg. available.

    Thank you everyone for your help! Found the problem, ME! had the wires 180 deg. off on dist. Could have sworn I put them exactly like I took them off. Next time I will Wear my Just ask Bruce shirt when I work on it.

    Dist. has not been removed, tractor was running fine. Shouldn't the #1 wire be relatively in the same orientation to the dist. like the picture I posted. I understand firing order and #1 cylinder is at front of motor. Just trying to verify #1 plug wire position on dist. cap.
