    Bruce, I just went out and removed the spark plugs, grounded them and cranked the motor over and i'm not getting any spark at all. What should i do next? Darren.

    It is an 8N with a front distributer. I removed the drain from the bottom of the carb and fuel pours out until i replace it or turn of the petcock so i'm assuming it is not a fuel problem. I will now go out to check the spark. Thanks, Darren.

    Thanks all for your replies, I'll try changing the cables and clamps. As you can tell i'm not a mechanic, i just thought if i replaced everything on the tractor i would surely hit on what was wrong.....as you can see that didn't work. Thank you for your help. Darren.

    I have an 8n with an electrical grimlin i need help tracking down. It started with the starter going out on it. I replaced it and everything was fine. I was installing a loader on it and was bumping the starter and it went out again, i replaced it again and this time nothing, not turning over...

    You were right, got the starter off and jumped it with a good battery and some jumper cables, solenoid clicking in and out, starter deader than a doorbell, thank you very much.

    I'm getting the same exact voltage when jumping around the solenoid as across the battery terminals, 12.43V
