    I think your right about the length of the cones soundes like the Problem. When I bought the fan hub assembly it was torn down with new bearings and cones in the box. Thanks for the information.

    Install new bearings and felt shaft seal on my uts but now have about 1/4" movement on the shaft is this ok.
