how unusual?

Saw a neat tractor over the weekend, but didn't realize how obscure it may be. It was a nicely restored G-1350 diesel. It was a 71 model. What was possibly unusual was it had a 585 in it. According the books I have access to, they put both 504's and 585's in the diesel 1350's but no designation of exactly how many 1350 diesels had 585's in them. I thought the 1355 was the first w/ the 585. Was 585 an option for the 1350 diesel? Did MM just put whicever in them? Just curious on the background of that combination. anyone know?
