    1010 RU Hydraulic pump alternatives

The relief valve on the 1010 governs the complete hydraulic system (steering, rockshaft, remotes). If the wrong relief valve is used on the loader (which it is), and depending where the loader is plumbed into the1010 (before or after the 1010 relief valve) will determine which valve will be able...

    1010 RU Hydraulic pump alternatives

You might want to double check the hydraulic pressure on that 1010. It is no where's near 2000PSI. It should 1100PSI, review your 1010 manual. 2000PSI may damage the rock shaft housing, steering, etc. I had a new shaft made years ago for my 1010 w/ power steering. He has since retired and...

Shift lever adjustment in 4020 PowerShift

I dealt with similar issues on my 1965. It is really a stack up of worn parts. As the parts wear, you adjust the directional linkage to compensate. It is getting pushed to the side by the detent in the valve body. Install new pins and yokes in the linkage to start with. You most likely will need...

    2510 overhaul

Anyone that owns a 2520, please go look at the engine serail number plate. I think your 219-diesel engine will show as TO4219Dxxxxxxx. My guess is that a 2520 GAS will show a M53RA as the 2520 used a 202-gas engine. M53RA M= Engine 5= Engine Model (4 cylinder, 202) 3= Fuel Type (Diesel)...

    2510 overhaul

The serial number of the engine is external and is the starting point to identify what you have. You can see the serial number plate without removing anything, maybe just washing some grease and oil off. You may need to snap a photo of the tag as it can be difficult to read where it is placed...

    2510 overhaul

You need to provide the serial number off of your block, it's on the right side under the rail. Maybe the very early 2520's had the 202 diesel??? Keep in mind that the 2520 had / should have had the 219 diesel and the 202 gas. I think both 202 diesel and 202 gas used the same pistons. I highly...

    1010 with unresponsive hydraulics.

I can tell you from experience, you most likely will not find a gear. I have two 1010's with power steering and had a broken gear. It took a long time to find a pump.

2010 - How do I remove the side panels from the dash??

Again, as stated it is based off serial number. tractors built after serial 29001 the right side comes off. Depending on what has to be done to the steering column, you may have to take the complete assembly off. You can see the exploded views on jdparts.com Most likely you will need to remove...

2010 - How do I remove the side panels from the dash??

On the later 2010's the right-side panel is removable, however it is tricky. Why you need to remove it?

The real JD 4520: Compression Issues

It starts now because it has the proper compression. The remanufactured head that I purchased had issues with the valves not seating properly as well as the guides. After the valves, seats, and guides were replaced I checked the compression prior to starting and as stated the compression was...

The real JD 4520: Compression Issues

I bought a cheap one from Amazon, because of the low readings I did not trust. I borrowed the second tester kit from my JD Dealer. Almost positive that this was made by OTC. Both testers leaked and both testers were consistently within 5-10PSI of each other.

The real JD 4520: Compression Issues

The chance of me getting a third compression tester and pulling an injector to see what the actual cranking pressure is, is slim to none at this point. I would like to know for sure, and I bet it is as stated in the manual. I should have captured a video of the blow by when i sprayed it with...

The real JD 4520: Compression Issues

Update: After reading though these post as well as sifting through my 4430 manuals I came to the conclusion that maybe in fact that the compression listed in the 4520-tech manual was wrong. At the same time, I check everything again, checked the valve lift which per the manual was within...
