    Why did you replace the carb? New carbs bought on Amazon do not have a good reputation. Your description sounds like the old carb is flooding. Take it apart and check the float level.     Unfortunately you would have to take off the hood. First see if it runs when stopping by loosening the gas cap. Some drill a small hole in the gas cap to vent the tank.

    When it dies, check for spark. Then check for fuel flow by removing bolt from bottom of carb. Also removed the gas cap and see if fuel flopw improves. There is a vent in the top of the gas tank which could be plugged
