    Farmall M wont Start

    So I tried cleaning the contacts, they had a lot of what looked to be almost a soot build up on them. Put the distributor back together, cranked it over, and nothing. Still won't fire with white smoke. I'm running out of ideas at this point.

    Thanks guys, This is a new to me tractor. Turns out there was a really nasty oxide layer on the battery terminal cables. I mixed up some nitric acid solution and used it to clean the terminal cables. The motor turned over, now there's a really bad carburetor leak( like someone opened a faucet)...

    Farmall M Electrical issues.

    I just replaced the solenoid. And still just click. Im pretty frustrated because its a brand new starter, a brand new solenoid, and a brand new battery. The only thing I can think of is a defective starter maybe? Any thoughts?

    I have a leak in my M's reservoir. Wasn't sure if it's a seal that needs to be replaced. Or i it was something else. Any help would be appreciated. I've also attached pictures of were the leak is.

    First you should disassemble it, degrease, sand blast, paint, and then reassemble. I recommend going over the major exterior components of the plow with a wire brush and rough sand paper before painting. You don't have to do this, but i recommend it if your plow is very rusty. I did the same...

    I thought a photo might help more. I tried the pipe wrench, but no success. I'm out of ideas. I don't remember who said it, but but someone said something about cutting the fitting. If I decide to cut it, where should I cut? I'm also still open to new ideas.
