    Building new spark plug wires

Let us know when they have one that can pull a brush hog through a ditch. I'd prefer one powered by hydrogen with suitable on-demand electrolysis to run on a tank of well water. Thanks in advance! :D

    Building new spark plug wires

Next thing you know they'll be talking about turbocharged EFI and which fuel map to choose. Where will it stop?!

    Building new spark plug wires

FTR: I installed a set of Taylor Spiro-Pro 8mm plug wires when I converted to EI. The set was "build your own", which was perfect. Nice red wires, too - the prettiest things on the ol' girl. :D I didn't run them through that archaic metal tube, either. They're nicely held in place and...

    Ford 8n hesitation

I'll wager not getting enough gas. Take a look at Bruce(VA)'s tips for diagnostic techniques: https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/articles/artint268.htm

I'm an idiot...connected jumper cables backwards

Amen. :D As I go through mine it's a constant battle of function over form. Function usually wins. ;)

    Ford 8n hesitation

and then what happened? Did you give it more throttle and it dug into the snow?

    8n compression restored

I'd say don't be in a hurry. You've taken the time to soak and break things loose. Soak more. Keep working it and see how much it improves.

    Alternative to winter fuel

My $.02: I don't worry about seasonal blends in fuel. I buy fuel when I need it and use it until it's gone. Usually 5-6 5 gallon containers at a time throughout the year. What I make sure to do is use non-ethanol fuel in my tools. It costs a little more, but will keep until I need to use it...

For your viewing pleasure. A diesel V8 8N

All said, from this distance it looks like a very well executed piece. Creating that was not easy. Just sayin' :)

    Throttle Spring

Tru dat! Mine doesn't have a spring. Not a big deal until I rebuilt the governor. Now the governor works properly and will snap the lever down when running wide open. A spring is in the near future. :D

    Carburetor milestone

That's an amazing milestone! Congratulations! I owe you for your help sourcing for my carb rebuild. The ol' girl thanks you ever time she fires up. :)

For your viewing pleasure. A diesel V8 8N

Pretty. What's in the transmission and rear end? One romp and they explode?

Was wondering what electronic ignition kit you would sug

I got mine from Advance Auto, too. At the time they had the best price I could find. Pertronix 1247XTP6. Easy to install and works with no fuss.

Adding a Proof Meter to an 8N

What he said. It's a neat feature, but IMHO worthless. Who has time to look down there to see the engine RPM? Just listen for it. Plus a functioning governor makes it moot.
