    Yeah....he won't budge on his price which is funny because he's had that for sale for at least a year and is about $300-400 high compared to ALL of the others I've seen. I've got leads on a couple others; just trying to find a many as I can and go from there.

    John Deere 1010 Ignition Wiring

    We can look at that. My other thought is to run the current coil wire through a relay...I feel like I've seen guys doing that before on the larger 10 series tractors that have the same issue.

    Yes I think that is my issue. So I just need to find a separate switched 12v post off the key switch to run the jumper wire from? For the testing I just had it straight to the battery.

    John Deere 1010 gas, converted to 12v negative ground with Pertronix electronic ignition distributor. Been fighting a lot of issues with this one...has new Brillman wiring harness. Current issue is hard to start. - Key on, 12v at coil - Cranking, low voltage at coil and no spark - Let off key...

    GEN Light

    I am not sure what dad has for manuals...I'm trying to help diagnose from an hour away or the occasional weekend I get to go help him. Serial # is 18733. Has new Brillman harness.

    Still have a generator...same issue with the old generator and a new one.

    Yes we do! Both indicator lamps were actually replaced last fall as well. OIL and GEN light get 12v from key switch.

    Will have dad double check the key switch...the labels on the new key switch don't match the original so maybe something is wrong there. Otherwise the rest of the wiring is new and I can verify it is correct!
