I bought the Operators Manual. And there are pictures that show the plug. But no reference to anywhere in the book !- J Harrah

Allis Chalmers 5045
On top of the lift Housing. There is what looks like a fill plug... Size 7/8" I see the plug in the operators Manuel but there is no reference to it. I took it off and there is a gasket on it. Should there be oil in this and if so what kind and how much. My control lever has to be almost all...- J Harrah
