    Thanks, honestly I don't know if it is a 2 speed. It is a 1961 JD 4010. It may very well be a 2 speed. I have used just to Bush Hog. Leaks just around the pto shaft in rear.

    Replaced the coupler to the hydraulic pump 3 weeks ago. Put all new parts in, torqued the bolts on the coupler to 35 ft lbs. Put about 20 hrs on the tractor bush hogging and today the new coupler broke where it clamps on the hydraulic shaft, thus no hydraulics. any idea on why the new part...

    thanks for the quick info. I am using grade 8 bolts and was planning on blue lock tite. I did cut the threads on the 2 1/2 in bolts a little deeper this morning so they would bottom out, then will apply lock nuts on the end for the two clamp halves. one of the drive pins had broke off causing...

    Can someone advise if known what the torque is on the 4020 hydraulic pump coupler drive pins (4) and 3/8 x 2 1/2 in. bolts holding the halves together? Also the 2- 3/8x 1 1/4 in. bolts clamping the coupler to the pump shaft? could I put longer bolts in the coupler to the pump shaft with lock...

    4010 Air Suction Hose

    Looks like JD quoted about $128. Think I will order from JD. Was thinking I could get some 3 in hose and make one. It might work, but not sure a straight length of hose would bend over the radiator and work. Not sure I am willing to chance. thanks for responses.

    Need to replace the air suction hose on a JD 4010, hose that goes from air cleaner over top of radiator to engine air intake pipe. Any idea where to get one or ideas on making one?

    Got the new bolts and dowel pins. Put all on this weekend with locktite. working just fine. thanks to all that supplied information, appreciate it.

    Thanks again. Parts are on order. ordered dowel pins. With the new dowel pins, do they need tapped into the stub before Pto stub is bolted on? Looks like overtime the pins would loosen and back out.

    Great information. Going to JD today to get the bolts. When I bolt the stub back on, if there is a problem with the shift pin, what would I expect to hear or experience? Pto wont work? Any lock washers used on these bolts?

    thanks, do you think they were loose was the reason for them shearing off? Never heard any noise or anything. Am hoping there isnt any internal damage in the PTO. anyone know the length of the bolts?

    Had the four bolts on my 4010 shear off today on the PTO stub while cutting. IT is a 540 shaft I think, has 6 spline. looks like two pins about 1/2 in in diameter. bolts that sheared look to be about 3/8. Also on the tractor in the middle where the pto stub goes, there is a small pin about 1/4...
