    Any Chicken Farmers on Here?

Egg production goes down significantly in the winter, during shorter days. Less daylight means lower egg production. It will pick back up again sometime in February.

    Hauling Deere D

My 1937 D is 5600 pounds per CAT scales.

    Hauling Deere D

Rubber, no fluid. And yeah, his might be closer to 4k. So a 7k trailer probably is OK. But anything less probably isn't.

    Hauling Deere D

I have a 1937 Deere D. It comes in at 5600 pounds, and that is based on the CAT scale. A 7k trailer that weighs 2,000 pounds will be overweight. I have a 10k trailer (two 5k axles), giving me plenty of capacity. You should be fine on total gross combined weight, and within towing capacity. The...

    What is a restored tractor?

I have two of those. I did not do the work myself; it was hired out to someone who knows what they are doing.

What is the original paint scheme and year? Is it a 640 or 641?

Here is a picture of my 8N and my 641. The 640 (and most Ford tractors of the era) had the same color scheme as the 8N with the gray and the red belly. The 641 series was all red (but like showcrop mentioned, it was not the same red as the others...more of an orange-red).

    YT tractor show. green day.

We pulled a 1937 John Deere D out of the weeds in my father in law's backyard a few years ago and had it restored... Here he is driving it in the St. Francis, Kansas parade: Here's me on my 1950 MT in the Bird City Thresher Show parade: Both of these tractors will be at the Bird City show...

Trailer salespeople: It can tow that!

That is a pretty good calculator. Too many estimates fail to take payload capacity of the tow vehicle into account. You often run out of payload capacity for hitch weight long before you get to the identified "towing capacity".

    Tractor rides

The All Nebraska Tractor Drive will be June 20-21 this year. This is usually a large drive; we had just over 100 tractors last year. Check out their Facebook page for more info.

I'm involved with the club that puts on the show in Ayr at Crystal Lake every year. If there were to be a show in McCook - depending on the dates - I would be interested in going and taking part.

    LS Tractors

When I bought my Deere 2038r a few years ago, my decision was down to the Deere and an LS tractor. LS makes a good product, and it was less expensive than the Deere. You could certainly get more bang for your buck with the LS. But...the LS dealer had a questionable reputation for service, and LS...
