Late 40's M. Whats it worth?

Sounds like the parts tractor I bought a few years back. I only paid $200. Tires hold air, full set of sheet metal, cracked head, cracked block, and missing lift. I drag it out for Christmas and wrap it in lights, so I can get all my money's worth out of it. Have grabbed a few things off of...

    Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Question

The '08 F250 6.4 I used to drive several years ago had this problem every 3 months. We used to have to have the filter changed. It was really costly back then, but I swapped jobs in '09. We used the truck to pull an enclosed dual axle trailer and had 80,000 miles on it in 1.5 years. When the...

    Xmas Etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xmas X is short for the Greek spelling of Christ. Xmas has been used since the 16th century. Therefore Christ is still in Xmas. No disrespect intended, just wanted to inform you.

    1951 A John Deere

Take fuel line loose at carb to check fuel flow into the carb. If that is flowing fine, then check flow coming out of petcock on carb bowl. If you have good flow out of both then you will need to go further into carb. Betting you have a rusty tank and some flakes have made their way into carb.

    JD Model 50 piston

Just did mine as part of a whole restore. From what I seen on mine you will have to take the whole housing off. It is a standard 335 o ring if I remember right and you can get them for about a nickel.

Oil Change on a 50 John Deere

I appreciate all the info. I am looking forward to diving in to it. Cleaned the local deere dealership out of oil filters. Don't trust them enough to give me the right information for everything else. Gomers run that place. LOL

Fashion, yeah that's right fashion, question

I clicked on that charm and it is no longer available at the Danbury Mint. So it may be answered for you on that end too. Good luck though.

Oil Change on a 50 John Deere

I am going to dive in for my first oil change on my 1953 Model 50 JD. What weight oil should I use when I change the oil on my 50? Also what brand is recommended? And what is the capacity on it?
