This is a completly restored tractor that I purchased recently. I know the tractor has not been run much in recent years. When I bought the tractor it started and ran fine. Now I am having trouble keeping it started. It will start but will not run long (30 seconds to a minute)and then it will die. If I let it set for a while it will start again and do the same thing. Is that trash in the carb? Is the any way I can clean it without taking it off.I blew some trash out of the carb but is still will not remain started for more than a minute or so. Can any one give me a suggestion on this.

Take fuel line loose at carb to check fuel flow into the carb. If that is flowing fine, then check flow coming out of petcock on carb bowl. If you have good flow out of both then you will need to go further into carb. Betting you have a rusty tank and some flakes have made their way into carb.

You might have something in the fuel tank that is blocking outlet. You can open carb drain to see if there is a good flow of fuel from the tank. Might also try applying choke when it starts to die to see if that keeps it running, if it does it would indicate poor fuel flow

Check your fuel flow. You should have a stream as wide as the fuel line. The carb could be dirty, so it may need cleaned. I have had trouble with this before and fouled spark plugs make it difficult to start. When just idling around, they will foul plugs rather quickly.

I had the same trouble.I took off the sediment bowl assembly off the tank. The inlet was stopped up with a peice of gasket off the gas cap that fell in there.Start there and work your self down to the carb to make shure every thing is free of trash.
