    Auction find

Had one in engineering school back in '69. Was on my way to a class for a test when I dropped it. Didn't think much about it until during the test it said 2 x 2 =4.2.

Might stop changing my own oil.

Yup, you and me both. Worse part is it takes me hours afterward to feel better.

Probably an issue with your browser.

Now we must pay to turn in our old flashlight cells

Before recycle centers took old tires for free you'd always see them along the side of the road. I remember (maybe over 40 years ago) we'd get paid $5 a pop for old car batteries (back when $5 was good money). I used to collect them as a "kind gesture" and turn them in for some good cash.

Why do new cars/pickups still come with spare tires

In the last 10 years I've has 3 tires going down on 3 separate vehicles. 2 had spares but didn't need them as I had an electric air pump to bring one back up enough to make the short distance home. The other I saw going down in my garage. The third the tire monitor warned me in time. Just bought...

    Alternator tachometer conversion…

I did exactly what you're trying to do with the same kit. The difference is I started with the Delco alternator (don't remember which model) that has an open rear bearing. Ford 5000 Simms injection pump help

I'm not sure if you're talking about the oil you're supposed to put into the Simms pump but if so my manual says to use the same as goes in the crankcase. I change it every season.

Ford 5000 Simms injection pump help; update

The issue was that it leaked when cold (draining the lines) but eventually would stop (or at least slow down) after warming up. When it stayed sealed on first start I was so happy I was dancing around like some freak.

Ford 5000 Simms injection pump help; update

Thanks to all those who responded. I used the exploded parts list to try and order new nylon seals at my local New Holland dealer only to be informed they are no longer available. Even if we could spare the money for a rebuilt pump we couldn't afford to have the tractor down more than a week...

Ford 5000 Simms injection pump help

Yup, I have the early (P4666) type. Where can I get those 4 nylon seals and the special socket to change them?
