    Have you tried adjusting the float tang to specs? Also could be fine irregularity on the needle tip. Foreign quality can be lacking.

    Attention Stolen Tractor!

    I looked at buying a S 231 back in 2004. I think they are not a very popular model, at least not in my area. I recall seeing only one aside from the one at the Massey dealer. It was a nice tractor but I founsd a larger JD model for around the same price.

    I put the same one on my '51 8N three years ago and used a volt meter instead of ammeter. I used one of JMOR's diagrams and had no difficulty.

    Best insurance against bad brakes is a good front bumper, which I don't have...yet. Leaky axle seals are the biggest cause of poor braking. My '51 leaks around the transmission cover gasket.
