8N problems

I put on a new carburetor and still have the same problem - the carburetor floats do not shut off the fuel. Internally everything looks okay.

Secondly, after installing a new 6-volt coil, new points and condenser on a front mounted distributor - I ran the engine a couple of minutes and was happy. But when it came to restarting it, there was no spark.

What to do??

As far as the ignition goes someone on this forum suggested when you buy a condenser, buy three. Maybe you’ll get a good one. Not good quality nowadays

In 1956 I ran one mowing the road sides and the medium working for the Ohio Turn Pike and the distributor points constantly gave it problems. When I had a problem one of the Pike trucks would pick me up and the shop would do what ever needed and they would drop me off the next day. The Pike bought a low wide tractor for the steep banks and put me running Mexican backhoe pushing dirt into washouts. Dang points or something like that was all I heard about the exact problem. My first job off the farm. Daylight to Dark 1,45 an hour no over time. I got all the high profile jobs in the sun being green behind the ears. Oh how they loved 18 year old farm kids.

Have you tried adjusting the float tang to specs? Also could be fine irregularity on the needle tip. Foreign quality can be lacking.
