Cub w/ rusted out valve seats - is there any viable fix?
kwikway and others make portable seat cutters that you bolt on the block surface and will cut the pockets to install new seats into. Can be done without removing or tearing the motor apart.Many machine shops have them and quite a few forklift repair shops also have them for the old flathead...- Jim48328

Pump Guys I need your thoughts
I have an 1801 series Ford manufactured forklift. 172 diesel. A while back I started it and all of a sudden rpm's would just start rising on their own. all the way to the govenor if not more. Stupid plastic fuel tanks
most auto collision shops have plastic welders and the rods for welding. they do a test to find which plastic it is and can fuse it back together if you have the pieces. -

Ford 600 clutch problems
They're were a lot of bad clutches in a whole lot of sellers systems. They had the three fingers in them for a car. They are longer fingers by about 1/4". Just enough to hit on the snout that the throwout bearing slides on. Once they hit they won't depress any more and no clutch adjustment will... -

Spark tester can LIE
Just had a 12v conversion that wouldn't run. Did normal checks and used the plug tester that looks like a plug but has a ring around it at least 1/4 inch from the electrode. had a nice blue spark. Went thru the fuel system and it was Aok. Everything checked good but wouldn't even hit at all... -

8n manifold question
here's an inexpensive cure to your exhaust leak and it WILL work. Clean off all your old gasket material and take a can of brake clean. Spray manifold and motor(rear exhaust port)and get it as clean and dry as possible.Put a bead of automotive black silicone around the port. Put your gasket on...- Jim48328

FORD 3000 Air Cleaner Restriction Indicator
You might want to check and see if while you were working on it that your choke cable got out of adjustment. The 3 cyl's don't like to start if the choke doesn't close all the way!! Forgot to mention this before. Don't be too quick to blame a valve if it appears stuck.I have had several that appeared that way with all the normal checks. It turned out to be a STUCK lifter. Forgot to mention this before. Don't be too quick to blame a valve if it appears stuck.I have had several that appeared that way with all the normal checks. It turned out to be a STUCK lifter. They are splash lubricated and once in awhile when a motor sits awhile and a lifter is holding a valve...- Jim48328

no fire
If it has a combination intake/exhaust manifold there may be a rust hole between the two sections where the heat crossover is.That will cause exhaust to be taken in instead of air and fuel to those cylinders.Took me a good while to find that one time. Just something to check.- Jim48328
