    Alternator conversion for a 3414

    Look at the Lucas or Bosch Alternators that were used on the IH 444 or 384 the last series of these IH Bradford, UK, made tractors. The Lucas and Bosch have a smaller foot print than the AC Delco 10SI and they will fit under the hood.

    Check that there is good flow out of the fuel tank at the input of the lift pump also check the lift pump, the older lift pumps used to have a fine screen to filter the incoming fuel. The screen could be cleaned by removing the top cover off the lift pump.
