    Ford tractor wasp infestations

Be careful with the little devils. My neighbor got stung so bad this summer that he managed to stumble from his shed to the house and tell his wife that he had been stung by wasps. He lost consciousness and the rescue squad didn't get there quick enough to save him. They took him off life...

    welding rods

Get some 7014 rods. I think you will be happy with how they weld. Will give you a stronger joint, too.

    Battery Disconnect Question

I don't use the tractor much and it sits for long periods of time. I want to prevent the battery going down.

    Battery Disconnect Question

Sorry, I have never seen one like that before. Where did you get that one?

    Battery Disconnect Question

I guess that is why all the disconnects are made with the small posts and holes. Everything is negative ground on newer vehicles now, so the disconnects are made for only negative ground.

    Battery Disconnect Question

I have a Ford 8N that is still 6 Volt, Positive Ground. I want to put a battery disconnect on it. Does it matter if the disconnect is attached to the positive terminal or the negative terminal? I think it would be best on the positve terminal, but most disconnects I find on Ebay or Amazon are...

What company manufactured my disc harrow?

I have one just like it. It has the Leinbach decals on it. I believe I read someplace that Leinbach has gone out of business. Shoup or other companies should be able to provide replacement blades.

What Gear To Climb Hill In? Massey Ferguson 20

You will figure out which gear to use after you go up and down the hill a few times. Pay attention to what others have told you about trying a low gear, then going up a gear if you feel comfortable with that. Do NOT try to back up the hill. That won't work well. I have hills on my place...

What is the make and model of this planter I found for sale?

I don't know what make or model it is either, but I have one just like it that belonged to my Dad. It was horse drawn, too, and was converted to 3 point hitch a bit different than yours. He used it to plant corn for many years. One difference is that his had fertilizer hoppers that have since...

New Holland Chain Balers - Questions

My Dad had a NH 848 baler and a MF 360 tractor, about 60 HP, that handled it fine. The baler had the electric tie mechanism with a switch on the right fender that controlled the tie arms. I never ran the baler, but I watched him tie bales and he had to be real careful when he tied a bale. It...

    school me round bale storage

I'm glad to see that others are advising him to leave the bales out a few days before stacking them in a barn. I made a similar comment to a poster who was putting up damp hay a couple of weeks ago. After my comment, everyone got real quiet. I've always been taught that hay will go through a...

How wet is too wet for hay

It is really some nice looking hay, but you need to be careful putting that damp hay in a barn too soon. Hay will continue to "heat" after baling and could burn your barn down by spontaneous combustion. I have been around making hay for almost 77 years. I was always taught to leave it out and...
