    Starting system

I have a 1941 JD A that I am completely new to. I am told that I can hook up some type of electrical starting system in lieu of hand cranking the flywheel (my wife cannot start it this way). can anyone be of any help? Thank you.

    Jet adjustment

In the FO-4 book it states that both jets should be adjusted out "1 Turn" on my 1950 8N/6V. Does this mean 1 revolution (360 degrees)?

    Starter falling apart

I was pulling my starter off of my 1950 8N (6V w/side mount dist) and before I could get a nut screwed on the end of one of the long starter bolts it slipped out of my hands and the starter came apart about 1 inch or so. The ends of the long bolts are just flush with the end of starter. Any...

    8N Starter Question

The battery is fully charged (about 2 months old) as I have tested it with my own tester. I just installed new cables today (bought from this web site), I have checked all of my grounds and see no problem there, and now all I get is a "click-click- click". Prior to installing the new cables...

    Lack of cranking power

This is perhaps going to sound like a stupid question, but nevertheless I am stumped. On my 1950 6V 8N (side-mount distributor), I don't seem to have any cranking power. I have a brand new Interstate 6V battery (purchased on 8/8/12). After having this problem, I took the battery back to...

    gasoline supply

I knew of the carb elbow filter (which is after the in-line filter I pulled). I was going to pull the fuel tank filter and the fuel bowl filter next, but I did not want to if the amount of gas flow I was getting was deemed enough by people who are more of an expert than I am.

    gasoline supply

On my 1950/8N/6V/Side mount after a minute or so I am getting no gas after my filter (and no it is not plugged) and only a fast drip prior to the filter (and yes I have plenty of gas). The tractor will not fire. Plenty of spark at plugs. Should I be getting more gas than that? Suggestions?
