    Filler Plates

I have an often debated question to ask. I'm running a 6620 Turbo with a 443 corn head. I run Cylinder at 400, concave setting at 20, fan maxed around 900, sieve and chaffer at book specs. I am getting a lot of cracked corn on flat level fields. The cylinder has filler plates in. A neighbor told...

    MICE!

I have heard of Fresh Cab before. I wasn't sure how well it worked. We have used moth balls in the past but it just doesn't seem to work anymore. Maybe I will try Fresh Cab.

    MICE!

Alright, it is that time of year to pack the combine away here in the east. What is the best solution to keep mice out of my cab? What have you tried that has worked and what doesn"t work? Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

443 Single Drive vs. Duel Drive

I went to look at a John Deere 443 corn head the other day. It was only a single drive on the right side? Our local John Deere rep told us that is the newer models. Could anyone please shed some light on this fact. What was the benefit of a single drive?

    6600 Feeder House Drum

I think I'm going to weld a thin piece of sheet metal over the holes (keeping in mind not to make it imbalanced) since when I brought it home from the salvage yard there was a ton of chaff in it. Thanks MN Scott for your replies; I always know I can get a straight answer from you.

    6600 Feeder House Drum

They are definitely factory made. One in fact on flange on the end was different than the other end but they were both JD and the same part number? This really confused me but I'm guessing they had an older style and then updated to a newer style.

    6600 Feeder House Drum

I picked up a Feeder House Drum at the salvage yard but this drum has an access hole on both ends and carriage bolts that hold the flange. My old Drum has no access door and the metal is threaded which is the current style that John Deere manufactures? What problems can occur from the access...

    Blue Concave?

My John Deere 6620 has a very heavy duty concave that is painted blue. I have not opened it from the front but looking in from the back access panels. Most concaves for a JD are green or some aftermarkets are black. Could anyone point me in the direction of what company sells blue concaves? I...

    6620 Variable Speed Fan

My belt was a little worn so I put a new belt on but my combine is still only getting a maximum fan speed of 850 rpm. Any other suggestions?

    6620 Variable Speed Fan

The Variable Speed Fan ranges from 272-965 RPM on a John Deere 6620 however for some crops a fan speed of 1000, or 1100 is required. Is there any modifications that can be made to achieve a higher speed?

John Deere 4420 with a 443 corn head

You can run a 443 on a 6620 Level Land but you have to watch your tire width. That's what I will be doing this coming fall. They are a little wider than the 4420.

    6620 Green Cabs

What years did John Deere go from making 6620 Combines with Yellow Top cabs to Green Top cabs? I've had people tell me 1983, and some say 1984 but I would appreciate all the input you can give.

    2 speed cylinder

On my JD 4420 I've never gone below 600 for soybeans; granted thats a different combine. Does going to a lower speed on the 6620 really make that much of a difference?
