    1975 IH Loader/Backhoe 3500A Needs Forward/Reverse Cable

    Yesterday I shored it up as best as I could but appeared to make it worse. It's temp held together with a nice sized nail. I wonder if the issue is not in the "plunger" type mechanism that attaches to the cable and goes into the trans. Maybe today i will try to reverse the washer relocation...

    Thanks so much Jim. I have full reverse nearly all the time and forward was weakening and then quit. Hopefully adjusting this toward forward will do it. I will follow up.

    Jim, I'm in upstate NY. I was just out there and disassembled the connection to the forward reverse linkage. It seemed to have a ton of play. I am wondering if this cable is not adjustable. What I will continue to do after work tomorrow is remove the cable from behind the dashboard, then...

    My backhoe listed above has a cable and linkage issue from the column to the trans and I need replacement parts. I can find none. Does anyone have them or know where I can get them?
