    my diesel has sat for a year..I bled the lines and I am getting fuel to the injectors..she is not firing to start just burning oil,thick black smoke..I cannot find a coil or magneto or any existing wiring for ignition..it worked fine in the past as it is now..how does it work????? what causes...

    its a ford coil one post for hot wire..and spring tab to distributor...8N.. the coil is a 12 volt I am going to bypass the resistor as I am also using a 12 volt battery eliminating the voltage regulator/

I am installing a new 12 volt battery and resistor with a 12 volt coil..bypassing voltage regulator..as it is not needed..juice goes thru the switch to the ampmeter to the resistor than to the coil...with so many pieces of equipment it is necessary to switch batteries from one to...

    sorry to hear of your loss..if u need manuals for the mg midget let me know...I have service parts list manual AKD 1579-mg, mg midget workshop manual AKD 1775,and mg midget worksop manual AKD 580A series TD and TF..I was going to put them on EBay...I will accept best offer..
