    MF 255 clutch

And if it is slipping how do I adjust it? How do I go about adjusting it? Where do I start? I'll check for free play. Thanks in advance. Joe

    MF 255 clutch

Thanks to both of you for replies. If I could have moved the PTO lever and gotten it out of gear I would have but everything was too tight and would not move. I even tried to un-hook the tiller and pull out of the garden but everything was bound too tight.......including the PTO shaft.

    MF 255 clutch

If I could have gotten it free from the tractor I would have. I tried to un-hook the tiller from the tractor and it was bound too tight to move anything. Same goes for the PTO shaft......it would not budge either.

    MF 255 clutch

I had an incident with my 1979 MF 255. I was tilling with a 6' 3 point tiller. I struck part of an old stump that was below the surface that could not be seen....(in a previously tilled garden). Long story short, I had one heck of a time getting the tractor out of gear, the PTO out of gear...

    Allis Chalmers G temperature gauge

I'm lost.... What/how are airplane temp gauges hooked up? Thanks in advance. Joe

    Allis Chalmers G temperature gauge

The part I was refering to at the bottom of the engine where the radiator hose connects is the engine block inlet which is cast iron. This may be where the thermostat is mounted inside. I have not messed with it.

    Allis Chalmers G temperature gauge

Allis Chalmers "G" tractors came from the factory without a temperature gauge. Is there a way to hook up a temp. gauge to one. I was wondering about drilling and tapping the bottom piece that is mounted to the engine block where the hose connects and running a line from there. Any ideas or...

    Loader slowly keeps dropping

I have a Massey Ferguson 255 tractor with a Farmhand loader on it and the loader will constantly/slowly keep going down while I am using it. Can anyone tell me why? I have replaced both lift cylinders in the past few years. Thanks in advance, Joe

Which MF plow should be behind my tractor?

OK, I've got a question. Someone said a #74 was a category 2 plow. I've got one that is a cat.1. Has someone changed the plow I got, or did they come both ways? Also can I pull a #74 3-16 bottom plow with a Massey Ferguson 255 diesel? Thanks in advance.......

    MF255 injector pump

Thanks for your reply and information. So, am I correct in thinking from what you have said, that I don't have to totally remove the injector pump from the tractor, just the top piece that is on there????????? is that correct? Also, do you think I should try to do it myself or have the MF...

    MF255 injector pump

I have a MF 255 that would not start. Everyone pointed their fingers to the lift pump so I replaced the lift pump. It starts....but now it has fuel POURING out of the injector pump. Why? Is there something that I did that could have caused the pump to leak. There is a piece in top of the...

    MF 255 won't start

Cannot get my MF 255 to start. Put it in the shed and it ran fine. Went out a few days later and it turns over but will not fire. I have used ether and it acted like it wanted to start but would not go. I have tried to prime it and I did get fuel to come out of the vent on top of the fuel...
